More woes for Apple as a new research carried out by Counterpoint, a Hong Kong market research studies reveal smartphone market share data. The research institute says Samsung currently holds 28.8% of total phones sold in the U.S., in March, Apple fell down the pecking order having just 23% of market share.
LG has 17% holding a comfortable third place position. It would interest you to know that both Samsung and LG are from South Korea and they are giving Apple a run for its money in the United States.
However, Apple may brush this off owing to the fact that the iPhone SE was released late March, which means the data could not have been captured on what was released by the research studies.
Also, the iPhone 7 is being over-hyped. Reports shows that the upcoming smartphone has got more buzz that the iPhone 6 which was an instant success. Apple can easily overcome Samsung when the iPhone 7 launches. Analysts believe the iPhone 7 will out-do the iPhone 6 in terms of sales.
The biggest talking point is that Huawei, the third biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world got one 1% of market share in the U.S. Apple is the second biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world, this means that if Huawei finds a way to tap into the U.S. markets, Apple could gearing up for more problems.
